Astrology for depth, clarity, and inner alignment

My Origin of Perception

Cora Leeson — The Introverted Astrologer

From a very young age, I sensed that there was more to life than what we see on the surface.A member of my family experienced a near-death experience during their childhood and returned with a profound shift in perception.In the environment I grew up in - between Zambia and South Africa - our homes were filled with books on astrology, numerology, energetic fields, the paranormal, and the unseen dimensions of existence.This shaped my earliest understanding of reality as something layered, symbolic, and deeply intelligent.

As a young child, I immersed myself in astrology through the works of Linda Goodman. I studied the elements, modalities, polarities, and archetypal qualities, and began to recognise these patterns reflected vividly in the people around me.At that time, I already held a strong inner sense that we are part of a larger pattern - that we may move through multiple lifetimes - and that life unfolds within a meaningful, if not always fully comprehensible, design.

Early depth and lived experience

I have a strongly emphasised 12th house, and from early life I have had experiences that did not fit easily within conventional explanations of perception or reality. These experiences deepened my sense that human awareness is only one layer of a much larger field.After leaving school, there was no formal route to study astrology in South Africa, where I matriculated. I completed a degree in applied social sciences and pursued a more conventional career.My search for meaning continued, and in my early 30s I began offering a small number of paid readings, alongside many years of reading informally for friends and family, often incorporating tarot for additional insight.The works of Liz Greene, Robert Hand, Stephen Arroyo and others have shaped my psychological approach to astrology and influenced my perspective deeply.

My philosophical framework

Astrology is not a predictive system in a simplistic sense, but a symbolic language describing timing, pattern, and development over the course of a lifetime.It reflects the unfolding of consciousness, and the kinds of experiences we may encounter as part of that process.The timing of life events often shows a level of coherence that feels striking - at times synchronistic, at times surprising, and rarely as random as it first appears.I hold a lived sense that we participate in the unfolding of our lives. While there may be an underlying pattern or structure, there is also agency, responsiveness, and choice within it. "The psychological rule says that when an inner situation is not made conscious, it happens outside, as fate…” (Carl Jung, Aion)Some phases of life feel heavier than others. Astrology can act as a kind of meaning-making language, helping to articulate the underlying intelligence at play within our lives.I also recognise that I still hold more questions than answers. This is not a limitation in my work, but part of what keeps it open, attentive, and alive.

What my life has taught me

If I had followed a purely conventional path, I would not have become the person I am today.My life has brought me into close contact with themes of empowerment, disenfranchisement, disability, bereavement, addiction, and the ongoing capacity for psychological renewal.These experiences have not been incidental to my work — they have shaped my ability to hold complexity, ambiguity, and emotional depth within a reading space.

Qualifications and training

To support my practice, I have completed distinction-level CPD diplomas in:* Jungian archetypes & therapy
* Astrology
* Tarot
* Trauma-informed coaching
* Numerology
* Greek mythology
I also hold a BA (Hons) in Applied Social Science.These areas inform both my interpretive framework and the symbolic language I use in readings.

Video Content

Alongside my written work and readings, I share astrology videos exploring collective themes, political figures, and cultural developments through a symbolic and archetypal lens.These are available on YouTube, and I also share occasional reflections on Facebook.

How I work with clients

My role in a reading is not to direct or determine outcomes.I do not tell clients what they should do or which path they must take.Instead, I read the symbolic and psychological landscape of a person’s chart, along with the timing active in their life, and reflect this back in a way that supports clarity, awareness, and informed choice.I see astrology as a way of describing terrain - not dictating direction.Each client remains the active participant in their own life.

Holding difficult life periods

Many people come to astrology during periods of uncertainty, grief, transition, or disorientation - when familiar reference points may feel less stable.In these moments, a reading can offer a grounded and reflective space to make sense of experience.This work often involves themes such as:
• grief and loss
• loneliness or emotional isolation
• lack of direction or meaning
• transitions of identity or life structure
My intention is to offer a calm, thoughtful space in which these experiences can be held symbolically, rather than overwhelm the individual.Astrology, in this context, can function as an anchor - offering meaning, reflection, and orientation during periods of change.

Closing reflection

Ultimately, I experience astrology as a dialogue between lived experience and symbolic intelligence - between the personal and the archetypal.It is a language that continues to deepen my understanding of life, and my work is an extension of that ongoing exploration.
